About

The Slow Dispatch is an independent, reader-supported publication built on a simple bet: that most stories worth telling do not fit in the time it takes to refresh a feed. We chase fewer stories and stay with them longer, returning to sources, checking claims twice, and printing corrections in plain sight.

Our beat is the ordinary machinery of everyday life: the way a bus route reshapes a neighborhood, why a small repair shop outlasts the chain across the street, how a rumor hardens into a fact. We cover the wider region but keep our attention close to the ground, where policy meets the kitchen table.

We take no money from the subjects we cover, run no autoplay video, and set no artificial deadline that would rush a piece into print before it is ready. If a story needs another week, it gets another week.
